Northampton County Housing Authority will be opening its waiting list for the Housing Choice Voucher Program effective September 8, 2020 only for specific criteria.

Criteria: In order to apply for this program, you MUST be at or below the following extremely low income limits AND living, working or attending school in Northampton County Housing Authority jurisdiction, which excludes the cities of Easton and Bethlehem.
You must meet BOTH criteria in order to be eligible to apply. If you do not, your application will be denied.

The Voucher program has a preference for (a) Veterans and (b) applicants who are living, working, or attending school in Northampton County Housing Authority jurisdiction, excluding the cities Easton and Bethlehem. At the time your name would come up on the waiting list, you will be asked to prove your residency and income.
*****Mainstream Voucher Program is also open and the criteria is as follows:

A homeless or previously homeless non-elderly household with one or more members with disabilities (at least age 18 and not yet 62 years of age) that also meets one of the following requirements:
  • Being released and transitioning from institutional or segregated settings. These include congregate settings populated exclusively or primarily with individuals with disabilities: or
  • Currently a participant in permanent supportive housing or a rapid rehousing program; or
  • Currently experiencing homelessness
  • Must meet the income guidelines above
